Cultural Space for the Arts

SEAFOOD MARKET STUDIOS! Affordable + professionally managed temporary artists studios and creation space available in the East Village

Seafood Market Exterior

Calling all Calgary-based emerging and professional artists, non-profit arts organizations, and artist collectives!

Need access to affordable, secure studio, rehearsal or creation space?  The Seafood Market is an excellent location for multi-disciplinary rehearsals, visual artists’ studios, festival offices, writers, photographers, graphic designers, film and video artists, and interdisciplinary artists.

Current opportunities: Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) and Calgary Arts Development have leased a raw 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse space (ideal for rehearsal use) and a 1,400 s.f. flexible space with plenty of natural light for arts uses in the East Village (630 - 7th Ave. SE). Located adjacent to 14 artist studios already filled, the large format spaces are available at reasonable rates for short- to medium-term licenses. Based on the existing building code standard, this space is not ideal for larger presentations or exhibitions.
